New track, new synth, new sounds… It’s so new!

New synth? Yes, because I don’t have enough… *cough* Never the less Reveal Sound had a sale over the Thanksgiving holiday (got to do that Black Friday) where Spire was 30% off, so I grabbed it! As you might remember it was on my want list and for good reason. 🙂
I’ve played with the demo previously and was impressed, but you do get that noise that interferes. Going through some of the presets after I bought it and trying them, I was blown away. The sound is just so pristine. I’m going to have a lot of fun with this!

I also picked up a few samples packs as well as bassline MIDI packs and similar stuff on sale. The sample packs, because well, more samples! The bassline MIDI packs and such are meant for me to use to get a visual on how these are constructed. I’m admittedly not very good at hearing how something actually works (especially not if it’s a 3-layer bassline, with low, mid and high), so with these packs I can get a better understanding of it, in a way that my programmer brain can better deal with. 🙂

And lastly I’ve started a new track because I’m going to try out something a bit different in terms of how I work, plus I got inspired by another track. This inspiration is a big part of what I’m doing right now, because instead of going completely freestyle, I’m trying to somewhat re-create elements from that track, so that instead of me getting stuck I can actually (hopefully) complete a track, which is something I really need to do. I’m obviously not trying to create the same track, but it will no doubt have similarities as I put my own spin on it. Also it’s a vocal track so I’m going to have to make up for the lack of vocal in mine. 🙂
I don’t have much to reveal of it yet. Or well, I sort of do, but I’m going to hang on to it for just a little while longer, until I’m a bit more satisfied with what I’m doing. However I will link you the track that is the inspiration, because it’s an amazing track!
